Qutub Minar, Delhi

Qutubuddin Aibak laid the foundation of Qutab Minar, as a victory tower, in 1199 AD. Originally intended as part of a large Mosque complex that was never finished. The stones were supposedly taken from nearby Hindu and Jain temples. The tower is 72.5m high.
